Nice to meet you.
I lost my beloved dog two years ago, and to help me recover from the grief of losing a pet, I started drawing small illustrations.
My drawings usually feature dogs, but I created this piece after watching a TV special about animals.
Since animals can’t speak, they communicate through their actions.
I’m always moved by the interactions between friends, parents and children, and brothers and sisters.
I don’t plan on getting another pet in the future, but through my art, I hope to feel healing, love, and happiness.
The original drawing is a monochrome piece done with a white charcoal pencil on black drawing paper.
A few days later, I colored it with colored pencils.
A kirin and a dog. Though these two creatures don’t usually mix, I wanted to depict the adorable interaction between a large animal and a small one, so I drew this.
Since this is an early piece, my drawing skills aren’t very developed yet. And even now, I’m still pretty much self-taught…
My family really liked it, so I’ve decided to submit it as my entry.
Thank you for your consideration.
