The Universe That Unfolds from My Room

I drew these illustrations with the hope that opening this notebook would evoke the image of your very own universe where you can freely write anything—a universe that expands your mind and your possibilities, overflowing with ideas like countless stars and planets, and that fills you with excitement just by owning it.

The cover depicts me lying on my back in my room, holding a tiny Earth and lost in thought, while the back cover shows me lying face-down with a pen in hand, brainstorming ideas.

For this artwork, I used a technique called “fluid art,” which harnesses the fluidity of paint to create unique patterns—no two are ever the same—to express my own personal universe. I also overlapped the imagery of ideas being born with that of stars forming, and through trial and error—such as adding scorch marks with a blowtorch in certain areas—I explored new ways to expand my ideas and express myself.
