Muraki-Seto Shopping District

We created a shopping district in the world of cats based on a real-life shopping district.
A cat street performer makes its way through nostalgic shops—including a movie theater and bookstore that existed 30 years ago, as well as a public bathhouse that’s still in operation today.
Since it’s a cat town, the text is reversed in some places.
This piece features a retro landscape with a distinct Showa-era feel.
This work won the Newcomer Grand Prize at the New Art ZERO Exhibition.
