This is a piece close to my heart that I completed after overcoming various struggles and worries during the creation process—sometimes even taking breaks when I ran out of ideas.
The feathers on the bottom tier were cut by hand from individual sheets of sheet metal and embossed with a hammer, while the middle tier uses spoon handles. For the upper section around the face, I used wood screws to really bring out the texture of the feathers.
The beak was hand-carved from a thick sheet of iron.
I used a torch to heat it, creating the unique metal gradient.
I aimed to express “self-confidence” through its brave facial features.
