“Hanazaki Kobo” is a factory brand born from “Hanazakiya,” a company that has been manufacturing metal parts for school backpacks in Osaka for over 20 years. Our goal is to take the craftsmanship honed over many years—craftsmanship that has accompanied children throughout their six years of elementary school and pursued “sturdiness” and “functional beauty” capable of withstanding harsh conditions—and adapt it to modern lifestyles. Our core material is “brass,” which develops a unique patina over time.
This time, we’re introducing our workshop’s signature piece: a “round tray” cut from solid brass.
Setting ourselves apart from the cheap brass-plated products and heavily coated items that flood the market, we’re committed to deliberately exposing the texture of “solid brass.”
The satisfying heft you feel the moment you pick it up is the kind of authenticity that only real metal can provide. For the edges, we’ve applied the precise deburring and polishing techniques honed through years of parts manufacturing to achieve a smoothness that feels as if it clings to your fingertips.
