What Nurtures the Forest

The acorns buried by the chipmunk
will eventually grow into a vast forest.
This pure-white chipmunk with eyes the color of rubies
might just be a fairy nurturing the forest.

Nurturing life, and being nurtured in turn.
May the richness and beauty of such forests and nature
be protected.
May small lives be gently protected
and nurtured.

A three-color pastel art instructor
who loves chipmunks
painted this with a prayer in her heart.
