At the after-school program in my neighborhood, when winter rolls around,
the Kendama Proficiency Test begins.
The kids who’ve been practicing hard say, “Yay! It’s test time!”
The kids who haven’t touched a kendama say, “Ehh… kendama?”
Even the kids who were reluctant at first
gradually start to like it
as they practice.
That’s the magic of kendama.
