The Month of Reiwa

This artwork was created during a live painting session held in front of the main gate of Ishiyama-ji Temple, the head temple of the Orikishi sect, during the 2024 Akizuki Festival.
It has since been donated to the temple.

To ensure that those watching the live painting would enjoy the process, I began by applying a base layer with paint, then covered the entire surface with oil pastels before using the scratching technique for the second half.

For the first half, I drew inspiration from the atmosphere of the venue and the spirit of Ishiyama-ji Temple, while for the second half, I drew inspiration from the beauty of the night and the delicacy of tradition.
