All the pen cases suitable for carrying fountain pens seemed to have a heavy, formal look, and I couldn’t find one that let me carry my fountain pens in a more casual, laid-back way. So I thought, “Why not just make one myself?” and created the pen case I wanted. I designed it to hold only the few pens I carry with me—those that are filled with ink—and to keep them from shifting while stored. When unfolded, it can be used like a pen tray, and when closed, it’s slim enough to be stored upright in a bag. Since I vary the fabric combinations and even the way I cut the same fabric to create different patterns, each piece is a one-of-a-kind creation with no two exactly alike. I carefully handcraft each one individually.
