Original Shell Accessory Artist I learned the basic techniques of polishing from a jewelry artist in Okachimachi, Tokyo, and the aesthetic of my work was shaped through direct on-site instruction from Chamorro artists in the Northern Mariana Islands. These pieces are crafted using only polishing techniques—without any paints, dyes, bleach, or acidic solutions (such as Sanpol)—resulting in exceptionally ethical creations that are gentle on people, the ocean, and the Earth.
