With the theme “Making a Night Out a Little More Special,” I create floral accessories that glow gently like fireflies. Whether you’re heading out to a summer festival at night, watching fireworks, enjoying Christmas lights, or admiring illuminated autumn foliage or cherry blossoms at night, for evening dinners or live concerts, or when visiting slightly dimly lit places like amusement park rides—these accessories are highly recommended!◎ The softly glowing flowers and butterflies will gently enhance your cuteness. The flowers and butterflies can store light from sunlight or UV lights. Using patented, hand-dyed fabric that glows in vibrant colors and the “tsumami zaiku” technique—a craft passed down since the Edo period—I create each petal one by one with fine tweezers. I then use the tip of an iron to heat-seal them together, assembling them into flowers and butterflies that glow in a variety of colors. Thanks to heat bonding, even slightly thicker fabric containing phosphorescent pigments can be bonded into a beautiful teardrop shape without the joints becoming bulky. This eliminates the need to hide the back of the petals with a base or other material, allowing each petal to stand on its own—making designs that combine teardrop-shaped petals with metal findings possible. We’ve also added designs that incorporate natural stones such as opal and sunstone, as well as 14kgf chains.
