A one-of-a-kind calligrapher who draws illustrations while handwriting text

In 2012, she became deeply immersed in the world of calligraphy after purchasing a calligraphy pen during a stationery shopping trip in Shizuoka.
Since 2016, she has studied under Yayoi Nishimura, learning traditional Latin script calligraphy grounded in Western Christian history, as well as lettering techniques and heraldry, while simultaneously teaching herself scripts from the Eastern Buddhist tradition (such as Sanskrit and Tibetan scripts).
In 2018, after winning an award at the International Calligraphy Federation Exhibition, she began working as a calligrapher. While creating advertising designs, brand logos, and items such as talismans and stamp books for Shinto shrines and Buddhist temples, she engages in creative work using various scripts from around the world.
In 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic, after much trial and error, he mastered “pictorial expression through handwritten text” as an evolution of calligrams. He named the works created using this technique “Bunga” (Registered Trademark No. 6690406), adopted the title “Bunga Artist,” and is actively creating Bunga works based on the writings of literary giants and historical figures from around the world. Born in Nishimeya Village, Aomori Prefecture; currently resides in Tokyo.
