京の春

4月の祇園の風物詩、「都をどり」のお茶席でのひと時を思い出しながら作成しました。簪には桜、お着物には提灯つなぎをあしらいました。

I painted it while reminiscing about “Miyako Odori”, a traditional dance performance held every April in Kyoto, performed by geiko and maiko.
The kimono pattern “Chōchin-tsunagi”is a design of interconnected lanterns. It is drawn on the plate at the tea ceremony of Miyako Odori.
