When I visited the Kyoto City Zoo,
I came across an owl whose head could swivel around.
Round eyes,
a direct gaze,
a head that swivels around—
it was surprisingly small.
I took some photos and videos.
While looking at the photos,
I drew some owls just as they appeared in real life,
but this time, based on those realistic owls,
I created an illustration in solid black.
