The dog who became the first to travel into space aboard Russia’s Sputnik 2.
I first learned about Laika from the trailer for the movie *My Life as a Dog*.
It was so sad to think she was sent into space all alone for an experiment—I actually cried just watching the trailer.
But then I had an idea: Let’s pretend she came back in this illustration!
Laika enjoyed her journey through space
and came back safe and sound!
