ムシカゴ Washiclub lab in Kyoto

Musikago is a brand created by the female employees of Washi Club, a manufacturer and wholesaler of washi paper products founded in Showa 45. Born from the desire to create a space where young designers can express their individuality without being bound by conventional wisdom—all while carrying on Washi Club’s spirit of “enjoying the past to gain new insights”—the brand was born. “According to the Kojien dictionary, the word ‘mushi’ (insect) refers to ‘the source that gives rise to certain thoughts or emotions. In ancient times, people believed there was an insect within the heart that stirred such thoughts and emotions.’ We look forward to welcoming you with wonderful Mushikago products that will captivate the ‘mushi’ within each of you. Our designers will also be joining us on the day of the event.”
