Full of Cats

I embroidered a large number of cats onto a square piece of fabric measuring about 30 cm on each side. It took me about 400 hours to complete. I added an artificial cat toy on the side so the cats can play to their hearts’ content.
I’ve always thought that while cats’ various gestures seem natural, there are moments when they look almost human—and that’s what makes them so endearing; it’s a charm that makes you want to keep watching them forever. Eventually, I found myself wanting to collect and express those mannerisms. The piece “Full of Cats” was born from that desire.
I design and create goods featuring pixel art, and I also make embroidered items. In this piece, I used cross-stitch embroidery to depict pixels. I’ve scattered many cats rendered in pixel art throughout the design.
