Hanahane

Since this piece is about the art of carving, I created a design that uses flower leaves as wings so that the material’s natural beauty shines through no matter what it’s set into. I left the “Hana-ha-ne” (flower-leaf-wing) untouched and finished the piece with a balanced design inspired by my beloved flowers and traditional Japanese patterns that evoke a sense of harmony. This design is crafted with photosynthetic properties to help purify the wearer’s breath—in my own small way.
